Can Dogs Eat Flamin Hot Cheetos?

We, humans, love to eat spicy foods that’s why hot Cheetos has the hottest version with the name flamin hot Cheetos. These Cheetos are more pungent than the hot Cheetos, and the reason is the presence of hot chilli peppers that contain capsaicin.

However, this is not toxic for humans and dogs, but it can cause adverse side effects in dogs. For example, a small amount of flamin hot Cheetos or capsaicin can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs.

Not only this, but capsaicin can cause burn-in dogs’ mouths, throats, and stomachs, which makes them highly uncomfortable. And flamin hot Cheetos contain more onion and garlic powder which is also on the no-no food list of dogs.

Can Dogs Eat Hot Cheetos with Lemon?

For us, lemon is used to boost our digestion process, add spiciness to food, and for many other purposes. But these lemons are of no use for your pet dogs, and lemons don’t offer any nutritional value to dogs.

Moreover, lemons can be fatal if dogs consume lemons in large amounts. So we have to avoid offering them lemon base foods like hot Cheetos with lemon, and hot Cheetos are already on the no list for dogs, and with lemons, there is a bog no for them.

Can Hot Cheetos Kill My Dog?

Having a look at the ingredients of hot Cheetos, we get an idea that hot Cheetos contain the same ingredients as several other junk snacks. Basically, hot Cheetos are filled to the brim with zero calories, onion and garlic powder, lots of salt and chilli peppers, monosodium glutamate etc.

Although these ingredients are not toxic, their effects could be fatal. For example, brim with zero calories offers zero nutritional value to dogs, and they are just stomach fillers for them.

Onion and garlic powder is a toxic ingredient for dogs and cats. However, garlic powder is more harmful to dogs than chilli powder. The presence of oxidants like n-propyl disulfide makes them unhealthy for dogs. And this oxidant causes the killing of dogs’ red blood cells, which is highly dangerous for your lovely four legs family member.

However, hot Cheetos are not toxic for dogs if they eat a small amount. But in the following two cases, hot Cheetos could be fatal for dogs.

Firstly, if your dog eats hot Cheetos regularly, these Cheetos can cause several other health issues mentioned above. And in severe cases, these health issues could be fatal for dogs.

Secondly: if your dog eats a large amount of Cheetos at a time, then the artificial ingredients in Cheetos can cause diarrhoea. And in severe cases, this can cause seizures.

However, we can say that hot Cheetos themselves are not toxic and fatal to dogs, but they can cause some diseases that can be fatal.

What Should I Do If My Dog Eats Hot Cheetos?

At first, don’t be panic if your dog munch on hot Cheetos. As they are not toxic in small amounts to dogs. So there is no need to call the animal hospital and their vet if they eat a small amount.

But if you are the witness that your dog eats a lot of hot Cheetos, then you have to worry about it. In this case, the first thing you can do is consult with your dog’s vet and follow his instructions.

If they have stomach gas due after eating hot Cheetos, they will show unusual discomfort and spend 20 to 25 minutes in the toilet. Have a look at their droppings if they show any symptoms of diarrhoea or nausea.

As I earlier said, garlic and onions cause blood cells destruction in dogs, so they can develop anaemia. And in this case, your dog can show one of the following symptoms.

  • Lethargy and low energy level
  • A total loss of appetite
  • Laboured Breathing,
  • Difficulty in moving around.

How Can I Cure Onion-Garlic Toxicity in My Dog?

Onion and garlic powder in hot Cheetos and flaming hot Cheetos cause blood cells destruction in dogs, and this causes anaemia in dogs. Anaemia is highly toxic to dogs, and that is why we don’t have to give them onion and garlic-based food.

If you unintentionally are used to feeding hot Cheetos to your dog, you have to contact its vet. But if they eat a small amount once in a while, you don’t have to worry about their anaemia.

However, make sure that you stop feeding them onion and garlic base food, so that bone marrow produces more and more blood cells to recover their deficiency in dogs.

Can Dogs Eat Hot Chips?

And this is only possible when we feed them, specifically dog food. However, if you wonder whether dogs would like to eat hot chips or not if you provide them, then they will surely consume them. They are habitual of seeing their owner enjoying hot chips with soda water. So they will try their best to eat it.

But we have to decide which is the best food for our lovely soulmate. And we know that hot chips, hot Cheetos, and flaming hot Cheetos are not one of them.

Dogs and Spicy Foods:

I think this is compulsory to discuss in general spicy foods as you dogs’ food. So at first, let’s talk about the foods that make other foods spics.

Garlic, Onion, And Chives:

These three ingredients make a portion of food spicy. Not only do they add spiciness to foods, but they can cause anaemia in dogs by killing their red blood cells. And in severe cases, this could be fatal for them.

Chilli Peppers:

Chilli peppers add spiciness to food due to the presence of capsaicin. And a small amount of capsaicin causes diarrhoea and vomiting in dogs.

As all spicy foods contain chilli peppers, onion, garlic, and chives, they make that food unsuitable for dogs. And if they eat spicy foods like hot Cheetos and flaming hot Cheetos, we have to contact their vet as soon as possible.

A Final Thought:

As dogs are used to living with humans, they are no longer afraid to eat human foods. So if you eat your favourite snacks like hot Cheetos in your dog’s presence, then they will also like to have them. But as we know, hot Cheetos are spicy, and not all spicy foods are safe for dogs to eat.
